NOTIFICATION ON COUNTERFEIT PRODUCT: NUPREP®

Recently we have received a report on counterfeit product of NuPrep®, Tongkat Ali water soluble extract that are made available in several websites and sold via online.

The standardized Tongkat Ali extract used in NuPrep®, are patented and NuPrep®, brand is trademarked in Malaysia as well as registered under the Ministry of Health of Malaysia for the sale of the said product for Malaysia market. NuPrep®, contains standardised water-soluble extract of Tongkat Ali through freeze-dried processing technology. The extract are standardised and encapsulated to ensure the biologically active components are maintained. The patented extract formulated in NuPrep®, has been tested for its quality, safety and efficacy through various testing and human clinical trials locally and internationally.

Biotropics Malaysia Berhad has a great concern on this matter which could pose safety risk to purchasers who consumed the counterfeit product with the uncertainties of its purity and quality. The counterfeiting or/and selling the counterfeit product creates brand confusion among the consumers as well as trademark infringement with unfair competition.
