Shah Alam. Biotropics Malaysia Berhad, which turns Malaysian plants into natural health ingredients, took part in a series of global trade shows in the last months of 2024, showing its clinically researched herbal ingredients to nutraceutical buyers.

Nu-Femme®, for women’s health, was a focus throughout. At MENOPE, Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, visited the stand with the Malaysian delegation. Biotropics also won a MIHAS Award 2024.
Malaysian botanicals
Biotropics works with Malaysian plants including Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma longifolia), Kesum (Persicaria minor) and Kacip Fatimah (Labisia pumila), made into scientifically studied ingredients at its own plant.
At CAEXPO, Biotropics signed agreements with Chinese companies to develop Tongkat Ali products. In 2025, Biotropics will publish new clinical studies on Physta® Tongkat Ali for women’s health and BioKesum® for brain health.
Next: women’s health in 2025
In January 2025, Biotropics sponsors and exhibits at the Functional Food for Wellness Summit in Thailand. Its presentation, “Supporting Women’s Health with Evidence-Based Ingredients”, covers clinical studies in women and the gap in women’s health research.
Biotropics plans to build out its women’s health range with Physta®, BioKesum®, SLP+® and Nu-Femme®, for hormonal balance, brain health, vitality and wellbeing.
